One of the benefits of GHF membership is the chance to come spend time
at the Farm when things are a little less crowded - sometimes when the Farm is
not even open to the general public!
These are the "Members Only" Events - sometimes they're well planned out in
advance, and sometimes they're completely spontaneous! Check here for
some of the recent member events ...
July 2007 - Morgan's Raid Members were invited to have dinner with the reenactors. Entertainment
was provided by "Polkin' Fun", an Appalachian Dulcimer Group.
The highlight
of the evening was a night artillery firing! Smoke, sparks ... the
whole works!
November 2007 - Bonfire We found ourselves with some old fenceposts to get rid of, so
we invited members to a bonfire! GHF Staffers Denise and Mary worked
hard to set up the event.
This was a family event - these dads had a great time
with their beautiful daughters!
Member Bob Griffin and Board President Jim Cole got
in a little quality discussion time.
The GHF 4-H Group got in on the fun, too!
A little hot chocolate made the chilly evening seem
a little warmer.
So did a chat with a friend!
It did get chilly - after the hot summer, no one
complained about "jacket weather!"
Marshmallow roasting is a skill handed down from one
generation to the next!
Straw bales to sit on ... great for a little mom-time!
This
team of professional marshmallow roasters showed how it's done!
A lot of socializing, but there really WAS a fire there
... and a hot one at that!
GHF
staffers welcomed the chance to spend time with our members.
